Good catch , you were right, and it was a real bug on our side.
The pings on that page were being measured from our server, not from your browser. So everyone saw the same numbers regardless of where they were: that “15 ms EU West” was our datacenter’s latency to AWS Europe, not yours. Living in Turkey, you were shown a number that had nothing to do with your connection.
We’ve fixed it. The page now measures the round trip from your own browser, so the numbers are actually yours — your ISP’s real routing included, which is exactly why you see something odd like better latency to US than to EU.
